River Penang located in the Robina Town Centre shopping center on the Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia. Robina Town Centre shopping center has gathered food from all over the world, and River Penang is also one of the very special Southeast Asian food restaurants, focusing on Penang cuisine in Malaysia. It is not easy to eat Penang&#39;s delicious food in Australia, such as Penang shrimp noodles and Penang fried dumplings. The key is that the price is very high. It is worth punching in.

The food was tasty, clearly of high quality and some of the best I have had at any stakehouse in a long while. The restaurant has a homely atmosphere with a delectable menu, highly recommend and will return!

Was Easter Saturday we booked for 5pm for 25th birthday, was exceptionally busy &amp; not enough staff on but the staff did an amazing job &amp; were very friendly Food was good but drinks took more than 40 minutes to arrive after being  ordered thru the app, have been previously with exceptional service but tonight not so much

Foreigners like to eat hamburgers, more convenient, and more affordable, this is close to the beach is not bad, the main decoration is like a bar, and I like the grilled ribs, with beer is very good.

Genuine Malaysian hawker food: kuayteow needed additional Sambal and could have benefited from more flavour, but the Hau fan was 10 out of 10 full of rich broth and generous seafood portions with beautifully cooked fish and prawns. Well done!

The first impression was terrible, we wanted to dine outside but the lady (owner I presume) bluntly regected our request saying she did not have time hence she would not clean the table and made us sit inside, she could have been polite in the was she spoke but she was not, we could have walked away but I am glad we stayed. I would give her the benefit of doubt as it was indeed really busy however I would not like to be treated in such a way. Our mood brightened as soon as the food arrived, the food was fabulous, would have given 5 stars if it wasn&#39;t for her behaviour however all the other staff members was really good and courteous. We had Nasi Goreng and Mi Goreng both were delicious, their coconut drink was amazing too, the portion size was filling . Really good Malasian meal.

After some debacle, our table ended up each with a satay dish, which were all tasty although quite variable. Veg curry puffs were a bit odd in flavour. Be warned- the menu descriptions and photos do not match current plates very well. This is important if you are looking for a certain level of spicy hot, or presence/ absence of ingredients. If you are flexible about these things, not to worry.

I used to visit River Penang quite frequently when I lived in the area. The food was very nice back then but the flavours seemed to have changed since. The char kway teow I had in my recent visit was uncredibly plain and the calamari was undercooked, it was not very pleasant to eat. Not sure of what has changed in the kitchen, but I hope the flavours that I used to go for will return.
